Job Description

Solutions Architect. £75k + Benefits Package. Mainly Remote Working (ideally onsite 1 day a week - very flexible). Must be eligible to work in the UK. Wakefield. West Yorkshire. Permanent. T6/MN/18383. Leading UK organisation with a high street presence is seeking to recruit a Solutions Architect. The Solutions Architect will work to create & maintain Systems Architectures capable of serving colleagues & customers - the role sits within a larger IT team. This is an exciting time to join the organisation due to their growth and the IT Transformation that is underway & planned for the future. Role:

  • Create & maintain Systems Architectures for multiple Digital Platforms & Systems.
  • Maintain an IT Architecture to support our business and our customers.
  • Propose software solutions & the development of differentiating business applications - to create business value and support business operation on a continuous basis.
  • Assessing requirements and relevant business & IT Data.
  • Preparing high-level estimates (scenario-level) & producing Solution & other technical documentation.
  • Advise and provide consultation throughout the System Lifecycle.
  • Assess the Systems Architecture currently in place - work with the technical teams to recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Inspect implemented solutions and audit compliancy with the overall software portfolio & design.
  • Advise on how to resolve technical problems as they arise & mitigation strategies so they do not occur again.
  • Provide guidance to Technical & Non-technical teams.
  • Research current & emerging technologies - propose changes where needed.
  • Architectural Standards - Document & maintain.
  • Inform Stakeholders & Delivery teams about risks/issues with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Assessing the business impact of Technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with Technical & Non-technical teams.
  • Some travel between business sites may be required at times - this is limited.
Technical Skills / Experience Required:
  • Solutions Architect experience.
  • Architecture Design experience.
  • Architecture Techniques & Approaches - In-depth understanding.
  • Operating Systems & Databases - Sound knowledge.
  • Desirable to have Project Management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational & leadership skills.
  • Desire to make an impact - with a can-do attitude.
  • Collaborative & flexible approach to teamwork.
