Job Description

REED Education are delighted to be working with Streethouse Primary School in Wakefield to support their recruitment of a SEN Teaching Assistant, to start as soon as possible. Streethouse Primary School is in the WF7 postcode area and is a small school inthe heart of their community.We are seeking to appoint an inclusive, enthusiastic and creative teaching assistant to primarily supportSEND pupils.This role will be temporary-to-perm, meaning the first 12 weeks will be paid via a REED timesheet, with a contract from the school awarded thereafter.The Successful Candidate will:

The main purposes of the post are:
  • To be responsible for providing bespoke support for individuals who have been identified as SEND.
  • Working under the direction of the class teacher and with the SENDCo, provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
  • To develop and promote effective working relationships with families, members of staff and external agencies as required.
  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school.
