Job Description

THE COMPANY: A large Not for Profit organisation based in Wakefield are recruiting a Linux System Administrator to strengthen the IT team.The organisation has a strong on line presence therefore this role is a pivotal role within the organisation.THE JOB: You will provide a professional and flexible service to internal and external service users ensuring that the operating system is fit for purpose.Duties will include:

  • Manage and deploy all Linux servers
  • Ensure all systems security is up to date
  • Run ad hoc reports as specified on Helpdesk system
  • Manage Proxmox VM Servers
  • Ensure backup of all critical systems complete
  • Document all existing and new systems
    • THE PERSON: You will have a System Administration background with strong Linux experience (Ubuntu/Centos) and have sound experience of resolving relevant technical issues reported by the internal team at 3rd line and good documentation skills for processes and procedures.You will need an understanding and have had exposure to PHP programming languages as well as experience of monitoring and maintaining various systems, infrastructure, and software.
