Job Description

Due to high demand from one of our Wakefieldprimary schools, REED Education are recruiting an experienced Key Stage 2 primary teacher to start immediately, up until the end of this academic term, with the possibility of the role being extended into thenext academic year. The Headteacher would like to appoint a Year 5/6 teacher to join the team.The successful primary teacher must also have previous experience teaching in upper Key stage 2 and must have knowledge of the National Curriculum alongside previousexperience delivering SATs booster groups.Main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons around relevant National Curriculum with clear learning objectives, especially surrounding KS2 SATs
  • Ensuring that the pupils are suitably prepared for their transition into Secondary school
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge by attending training days and staff meetings
  • Working with the classroom support staff to identify any pupils who require additional learning support and working with them on a 1:1 or group basis to raise attainment
  • Assessing and recording each pupils progress in reference with the schools practice by giving regular feedback and reflection on progress
  • Managing the behaviour using the schools behaviour policy
  • Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers
  • Safeguarding the health and safety of all children
