Job Description

Estimator - Traffic ManagementExcellent opportunity for someone experienced in traffic management looking to move into Estimation and pricing up projects for a Tier 1 contractor.Location: -WakefieldSalary: - £35,000 - £38,000 basicRole DescriptionWorking for the Tier 1 contractor you will be part of the Traffic management team, pricing work for both individual schemes with Highways England, Frameworks and on JVs.Reporting in to the General Manager for Traffic Management your duties could include: -

  • Obtaining and selecting Tenders/ Enquiries relating to traffic management by liaising with client commercial services departments.
  • Preparing and submitting offers by evaluating documentation, assessing the resources, materials and costs required for offer.
  • Sending out subcontractor enquiries
  • Contributing to methodology and attribute documentation
  • Finalising and submit offer to within offer limits at current at the time
  • To drive performance improvements within your Area of responsibility and share best practice across the business.
    • You dont need to be a specialist in Traffic Management, but you do need the knowledge of Highways and how the Traffic Management integrated with a project team. Understanding the tender / bid process, commercial acumen and highways experience is the basic requirements as the rest can be taught and developed through training.Qualifications:
  • Form of qualification be it HNC / HND / Degree
  • Commercial understanding so you appreciate what an Estimator does with in Traffic Management.
