Job Description

Estimator - Power & PetrochemicalLocation: WakefieldSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annumEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentCompany Overview:My client is a leading engineering company specializing in design, supply, repair, maintenance, and site installation services within the power generation and petrochemical industries. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we pride ourselves ondelivering high-quality solutions to our clients.We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects in thepower generation and petrochemical sectors.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate favourable terms.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of material costs, labour rates, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to internal teams and clients.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Participate in bid clarification meetings and address inquiries from clients and internal teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the engineering construction industry, with a focus on power generation and petrochemical projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant estimating software and tools.
