Job Description

Engagement Advisor (Full Time)£24603.60 - £25,856 per annum37hrs per weekPermanentASAPLocation: WakefieldWe are working with a Further Education (College) setting in Wakefield to recruit a full-time Engagement Advisor for a permanent position, reporting to the Community Liaison and Engagement Manager.The main objectives of the role are:

  • To recruit young people onto courses offered in the College
  • To attend Careers Fairs across schools in the Wakefield area
  • To work with the Community Liaison and Engagement Manager to ensure recruitment targets are met each year
  • To work proactively with referral agencies and in community settings, PRUs, Schools, to ensure target number of appropriate participants are recruited to College each academic year
  • To provide and record IAG to young people to support them on their career journey
  • To work with NEET young people aged 16-19 to engage them to participate in College ensuring recruitment targets are met
  • To attend events and undertake recruitment activity ensuring that our offer is embedded as part of local pathways and integrated services
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues in the College to ensure participants are given appropriate advice and guidance to identify both their eligibility and suitability for the course
  • To work with the Community Liaison and Engagement Manager to ensure recruitment targets are met each year
  • To undergo training as when required
You must have:
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 qualification in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) or be willing to work towards one
  • Maths and English qualifications at grade C and above or equivalent
  • Successful track record or working with hard-to-reach young people
  • Experience of finding young people and promoting the provision and benefits of learning them
  • Working with community groups and individuals on an outreach basis
  • Experience of engaging with schools and referrals agencies to refer young people to training programmes or positive activities
