Job Description

Domiciliary Senior Carer Location: WakefieldSalary: £10.30 per hourOur client is one of the leading providers of home care and support in and around Wakefield. They provide care for the elderly with the help of their well trained and dedicated staff members.The company are looking to recruit an Experienced Domiciliary Senior Carer to join their team.They offer excellent pay rates, guaranteed hours contracts, paid training, free uniform, online and on the job training, with the opportunity to advance on previous training which includes completing qualifications relating to the job role.You will be joining a dedicated team who oversee the delivery of their services to people across the Wakefield and Pontefract area.The Senior Carersrole will involve:

  • Working with and alongside other Seniors and Co-ordinators in the day-to-day operation of the Domiciliary Care Services and maintaining up to date records.
  • Assisting in the management of rota/allocation of unassigned calls andworking around such rotas when sickness and absence of carers is involved.
  • Participating as required in the initial assessment of service users needs and planning service user care along with updating risk assessments and care plans.
  • Liaising with other health and social care professionals to develop a person-centred package of care for new clients.
  • To ensure all reporting and recording documents are kept up to date by regular spot checks and observational supervisions of community care workers.
  • Undertaking on call duties on a rotated basis.
  • Having or willingness to develop a good understanding of the geographical area.
  • Responsibility for helping and supporting care workers.
  • To actively provide care when and as required
The successful Senior Carer will be subject to a clear DBS and have:
  • A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or commitment to undertaking the appropriate training.
  • Previous experience in Domiciliary Care.
  • Good IT Skills (experience of People Planner is desirable)
  • Good leadership and organisational skills.
  • A full driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
