Our client provides transport, distribution, logistics and warehousing expertise across the UK and Ireland. Specialising in Full / Half Load services, and Groupage their modern fleet allows customers to choose a fast and efficient next day service or utilise the more economic 48/72 hour distribution service to match your deadline with your budget.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DEPOT MANAGER based out of our clients busy WAKEFIELD location. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director you will run the depot as if it was your own business and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the operation. You will lead and develop a the on-site team which include Drivers, Customer Services and Warehouse. The depot runs a mixed fleet of 12 / 18 tonne vehicles and arctics. You will be an effective people manager and motivator of staff, be target and results orientated, have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated. You will also have the ability to work in a busy environment, able to compile and work to budgets and be able to prioritize a heavy workload. Lastly the ideal applicant will have a flexible approach to work and be customer service orientated, with a commercial attitude.Applicants for this position must have a proven track record in managing and developing a HAULAGE /PALLET / EXPRESS PARCELS / MULTI DROP operation. Also a CPC accreditation is essential and you will be preferably IOSH trained.
