Job Description

To lead and participate in the successful delivery of web technology changes through the full web software development lifecycle to time/cost/quality measures, using Agile & lean principles in accordance with web standards, processes, policies & procedures.Client DetailsA leading, higher education instituteDescription

  • Lead, support and directly participate in delivery of Web Development and web standards across the full software development lifecycle, in-line with adopted standards, practices and procedures.
  • Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of web changes in-line with adopted standards, practices and procedures.
  • Support and contribute to the wider promotion and introduction of Web Development good practice, including contributing to a centre of excellence for the discipline.
  • Coach and mentor individuals / small groups within the team (and more widely as appropriate) to grow the capability of individuals and the wider team.
  • Support and participate in the delivery of agreed service levels as defined in the application service catalogue or as directed, taking action or escalating where required.
  • Support and contribute to the introduction of industry standard Web Development approaches,standards, practices & processes to meet the needs of the University.
  • Follow and support the adoption of appropriate & proportionate governance for all Web Development undertakings relevant to the unit or as directed. Taking action where necessary to remedy or escalate any shortcomings as appropriate.
  • Ensure relevant stakeholders are appropriately briefed on progress and escalations.
  • Support the creation, measurement and reporting on KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of the unit in meeting (or exceeding)
  • Fostering an environment which values supporting successful outcomes and achievements overindividual roles & responsibilities (including acting as a role model to promote this).
  • Supporting, implementing and contributing to wider Department improvement plans, continual improvement for the unit using Industry best practice and Agile/Lean as a guiding light.
  • Supporting the management of selected key relationships by seeking constructive feedback from stakeholders to ensure the team is meeting the needs of the University and providing good customer service. This includes taking action or escalating as necessary to remedy situations where it falls short.
  • Where appropriate build and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders (relevant to the role) across the university and in the wider HE community (e.g. Discover Uni, UCAS, WCMS vendor etc).Support the management of selected supplier relationships in conjunction with the Department
  • To ensure the organisation gets value for money, meeting all departments and legal requirements.
  • Act as a role model for the expected behaviour in CMSR.
  • Profile
  • Maintaining and developing new applications using MS .Net technology, React, Redux, NodeJS, GitLab, APIs, C#
  • Significant and demonstrable in hands on development of leading Web services and/orapplications developments using the Microsoft or Linux platforms
  • Significant and demonstrable hands-on WCMS for web and/or applicationdevelopment
  • Demonstrable skills in building and maintainingsecure web (desktop and mobile) applications
  • Demonstrable configuration and usage of performance and testing tools for webapplications/services (Google PageSpeed, Visual Code etc)
  • Used of source code version control tools such as (Source Tree, Subversion etc)
