Job Description

Management Accountant (Manufacturing) GBR Recruitment Limited are working in exclusive partnership with a well-established and progressive food manufacturing company, recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join the Accounts / Finance team on-site on a permanentbasis working 4 days per week, on a Monday to Thursday working week (hybrid working scheme, working 2 days from site & 2 days from home). Salary advertised is Pro Rata (if full time 5 days a week working).As the Management Accountant for the site, your core responsibilities will be to provide accurate financial information, in terms of the site’s real performance levels and the true costs involved across the operation (end to end process), working closely/ hand in hand with the Financial Controller and sites Senior Management team in all financial decision making and cost analysis (OPEX, CAPEX & general running costs etc.).You will be a strong working partnership builder who collaborates successfully with other departments (manufacturing, sales, supply chain etc.), an Accountancy professional who can influence others in the SMT, possessing superb analytical skills (cost analysis,business analysis, MI, CI, KPI’s, LEAN etc).Accountant Duties & Remit:

  • Provide financial information to the SMT, to support the delivery of site strategy, goals, and objectives, in line with business strategy, goals, and business objectives
  • Complete and review sites financial / performance KPI’s
  • Co-ordination and analysis, of the data entries for the monthly manufacturing plant performance for the site, and entry of financial measures
  • Compiling weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, plus KPI’s for the site, communicating the findings with additional commentary, including prime cost variance analysis, cost centre overhead reporting, waste, and project tracking.
  • Co-ordinate and lead site weekly performance reviews with the Financial Controller and Factory Site Manager.
  • Understand fully and investigate thoroughly any production variances / anomalies.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Support site planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including manufacturing, logistics and capital forecasts for the site
  • Manage the fixed asset schedule and capitalising assets
  • Provide constructive challenge to manufacturing and supply chain budget holders, to help drive financial cost improvements (CI / LEAN / Zero Waste focus at all times)
  • Manage Overhead Cost Centre Budgetary Control Process
  • Attend Financial / Accounts / CAPEX & OPEX meetings with other SMT members
  • Identify opportunities to develop and improve current financial processes and practices
  • Manage Inventory Control processes including reconciliations and highlighting stock control issues
  • Assisting with the year-end audit
  • Support and assist accounts payable team (AP) to resolve outstanding invoice issues
  • Ad-hoc financial, accounting and costings support and analysis when required
Accountant Attributes:
  • Must have current or previous Food Manufacturing Accounting / Finance experience from within a fast paced high volume manufacturing site
  • Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant (AAT / ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Management Accountant, Company Accountant, Cost Accountant or similar Accountant level experience within Manufacturing / Production
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, V-look up etc) & Strong Accountancy Software skills
  • JDE or similar ERP systems experience
  • Strong people engagement skills
