Job descriptionWe are currently recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join a great team in Uttoxeter.Overview of the role: As an Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for the deployment, administration, and ongoing management of IT Infrastructure. You will work closely with colleagues in Europe, USA, China, India, Brazil and be will be the final line of support when investigating incidents. As a key member of a small IT Infrastructure Team, you will be supported by colleagues that are all subject-matter-experts in their fields. You will be exposed to a wide range of infrastructure technologies and empowered to deliver against your objectives. Your guidance and experience can and will likely influence strategic infrastructure decisions across the group. You will need to have the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently and effectively. You will be required to liaise with senior business stakeholders to identify their requirements and have the confidence and experience to present solutions and deliver them. You will work on projects, from inception, through solution design, procurement of infrastructure, deployment and onto support.Your Responsibilities as an IT Infrastructure Specialist: AWS and/or Azure experience is essential. Proficiency in defining solutions, their deployment and ongoing support. You will provide support and advice to the Group IT Security team and must have an understanding certificate management, hardening of OS platforms, best practices to be employed with data structures and ACLs. SAN experience and a high level understanding of the different protocols, LUN mapping, iSCSI, FC, NFS exports. Microsoft Windows Server administration deployment and support. Microsoft Active Directory administration to include Group Policy management. Administration for virtualised server infrastructure (VMWare and Hyper-V) including host deployment, VM deployment and management, SRM. Disk storage configurations and administration. Enterprise backup & data protection experience; monitoring, reporting, remediation. Work package delivery for business projects contributing as technical authority for IT Infrastructure elements. Supporting the Group IT Infrastructure function with business-as-usual support. IT Service performance/system monitoring and optimisation. Support and maintain the companys hardware infrastructure. Create and maintain technical documentation to support IT infrastructure architectures and IT Services. Create and manage appropriate disaster recovery and data management (backup and recovery) solutions. Providing 3rd line support, including out of hours support, to critical incidents and participation in an on-call IT support rota. Occasional requirements for international travel.About you: Must have a passion for technology and personal desire to develop understanding of current and emerging technologies. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to process and interpret complex technical information. Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage own workload to meet project deadlines. Effective use of advanced infrastructure troubleshooting techniques, tools, and appliances.
