CAD Design Technician£35 - £40k per annum UttoxeterOur client is an established, industry-leading storage tank manufacturer. While the headquarters offers a personable and professional service, their resources, skills, and ingenuity enable them to continue to manufacture an unrivalled range of storage and dispensingtanks.They pride themselves on the innovative design, integrated technology, and overall quality of their products and understand that people are the key ingredient in making a successful business, and considering this encourage an open, flexible, and inspiring environmentto allow the growth and development of the team.RoleAs a CAD Design Technician you will work alongside the Managing Director as part of a newly created design department whose main aim is to assist with the management and development of new products and services, from concept and prototyping to full scale manufacturing,to help grow the business as a whole.You will be accountable for the innovation and management of 3D models & assemblies for:* New projects, products, and services* Existing products & assemblies including all their parts* New customer enquiries & bespoke requestsRequirementsThe successful candidate will drive continuous improvement through the redesign and performance of existing products, design for manufacture, whilst also designing, creating, and testing new products.You will be expected to:* Compose and maintain project schedules* Supporting the sales team and workshop with new customer enquiry drawings required pre and post sales process* Supporting marketing with rendered models and drawings required for manuals, internal literature and customer facing literature* Modelling all current parts used and create assemblies for our established range of products* Scrutinise parts and assemblies by design, optimising the use of raw material and efficiency of operations* Study existing design briefs, determine possible and effective design solutions whilst incorporating new technologies and/or materials* Detailed 2D & 3D modelling of parts and assemblies using CAD (Solidworks)* Concept development and testing* Collect and analyse data from bench and full-scale testing on prototypes* Experience in the design of complex 3D models, assemblies, and plastic moulded parts* Understanding of product aesthetics* Good understanding of design and its relationship with how parts & assemblies are manufactured* Solid Works Freehand, engineering sketching and CAD Rendering experience desirable.* Understanding of manufacturing techniques & processes* Structured approach to scheduling projectsHours* 08:30 - 17:00 - Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 16:00 - Friday* Lunch Break - 30 MinutesIn addition of a competitive salary of £35-40k, you will expect to receive* Holidays - 25 days + Birthday Holiday + Bank Holidays* Early Finish Fridays* Free Parking* Personalised Training Programme* Generous Holiday Package* Company Events
