Job Description

Our client have been awarded the NGMS (Next Generation Munitions Supply) contract with MoD. This requires capital investment across its sites, mainly around plant & equipment and site infrastructure. This additional spend has highlighted the need for additional Senior Buyers to help deliver this investment and ensure the value for money is achieved.They will require Senior Buyers at all 3 sites below, however will currently be home based due to covid;

  • Washington (near Newcastle)
  • Radway Green (Near Crewe)
  • Glascoed, USK
    • The Senior Buyers areas of spend may include a wide range of plant and equipment (machining centres, industrial press, spray paint booth, inspection/measuring equipment, cooling, etc.)In addition, there is a wide range of infrastructure projects to improve site buildings. Each site has appointed teams with a specific focus on delivering NMGs investment.The Senior Buyer will need to deliver and develop relationships with key stakeholders at each site and be a strong influencer of change byreinforcing a robust procurement process.The senior buyers responsibilities will also include:
  • Identifying potential suppliers,
  • Running e-sourcing events - Coupa.
  • Maximising cost savings
  • Co-ordinating the evaluation, down-select, negotiation and award,
  • Managing the transaction (SAP/Coupa),
  • Identifying and obtaining approval of cost savings to the business, and
  • Managing suppliers to ensure delivery of goods/services as agreed.
