Job Description

Do you have Infrastructure engineering or support experience and looking for a new challenge This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one our large Defence sectors and provide technical expertise for distributed systems environments on issues related to servers, local services, data centers, server configuration, and to ensure that client needsare met. You will have the opportunity to work on multimillion pound projects digitally transforming MOD Defence Business Services and play a key part in having a positive impact on the lives of the Armed Forces and our Veterans.This is a Hybrid role, working 2 days a week from one of our offices in Glasgow, Blackpool, Newcastle, York, Newport OR Gosport. There will be the need to travel to Gosport and Glasgow when you initially startWhat youll be doing:

  • Provide configuration management, inventory management, fault management, and trouble management support on already established Wintel servers and desktop devices
  • Support periodic maintenance and upgrades of Wintel computer environments
  • Requirements definition, specification, design, development, and integration of Microsoft Windows systems and on projects
  • Test, integrates maintain, and address escalated problems related to Wintel systems
  • Provide configuration management, inventory management, fault management, and trouble management support on already established servers or networks
  • Support maintenance and upgrades of Wintel computer environments
  • Perform risk and consequence assessment for projects
What youll bring:
  • Experience in Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Active Directory, Citrix, Vmware
  • Experience working with computer server hardware, operating systems, and specific applications within Wintel systems environments
  • Experience working with systems management frameworks, protocols, and tools including SCCM
  • Organisation skills to balance and prioritise work
  • Communication skills to interact with Management, team members and support staff
  • Skilled in integrating distributed computing hardware and software systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment that will include providing on call support
  • Willingness to travel - must have full driving licence
