Not only will you be taking part in the world’s most famous military ceremonies, you’ll be driving some of our most renowned vehicles - the Scimitar and AJAX armoured fighting vehicles. You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds. Your work is absolutely vital to Army operations and integral to your Corps - the Royal Armoured Corps. When you’re out in the field, you’ll be our on-the-ground specialist in reconnaissance/surveillance. We’ll give you all the training you need to reach your full potential. Whether you’re astride your horse guarding Buckingham Palace or driving a Scimitar vehicle in Army operations, you’ll be making your family and friends proud and achieving much more than you ever thought possible.WORLD-CLASS TRAININGJoin us and you’ll start by learning the soldiering skills common to every member of the British Army, like outdoor survival and the safe handling of weapons. After this, you’ll head to Bovington, Dorset, for 20 weeks of specialist training. Here, you’ll focus on communications, fighting from vehicles and an introduction to the AJAX armoured fighting vehicle. You’ll get a driving licence (if you don’t already have one) and a tracked vehicle licence (the H licence). Then, you’ll move to Windsor and begin your riding course to prepare you for all aspects of becoming a mounted ceremonial soldier on duty in London.GAIN QUALIFICATIONSThe Army can help you gain a range of qualifications.
