Job Description

The BusinessNigel Wright have been exclusively appointed to work with a high growth manufacturing company based in North East.The RoleOur client is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join their team.Duties will include:

  • Managing month-end and year-end close process, meeting tight deadlines and supporting external audit
  • Provide and present comprehensive monthly performance reports covering all areas of the P&L account
  • Support the management team by analysing, understanding and interpreting the financial performance of the business, providing information to improve decision making
  • Preparation of Business Planning and Forecasting information
  • Oversee product costing and support price setting for customers
  • Ensure compliance and control over all financial transactions and reporting
  • Support and work closely with Group Finance team, including cashflow forecasting
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements, including tax/customs returns
  • Support investment appraisal analysis
  • Managing a small team of 2
    • Person Specification
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified accountant with 5 years plus PQE
  • Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Sound understanding of accounting fundamentals, and experience of managing and maintaining financial controls
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills at all levels including the ability and confidence to present to the management team
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making techniques, with a record of using these to influence operational improvement
  • Energetic, flexible and committed to achieve tight deadlines
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Experience of using SAP in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of UK taxes and customs procedures would be beneficial
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and other PC applications.
  • Two or more years as a manager or supervisor, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and contributing to staff development
