SEN Teaching Assistant- January 2024Tunbridge WellsFull-Time- Long-term/PermanentAre you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Do you have experience working as a teaching assistant or a similar role in an educational setting Do you want to join a friendly and supportive team ofprofessionals who are committed to providing high-quality education for all pupilsIf you answered yes to these questions, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our school from January 2024. You will work under the guidance of our SEN teachers and otherspecialists to help pupils with a range of SEND access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:- Support pupils with SEND in the classroom, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis- Prepare and adapt learning materials and resources to suit the needs and abilities of each pupil- Engage pupils in learning activities and encourage their confidence and independence- Care for pupils physical, emotional and social welfare and ensure their safety and well-being- Provide feedback and assistance to teachers and other staff on pupils progress and behaviour- Collaborate with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists- Attend training and meetings as required and keep up to date with current policies and practicesTo be successful in this role, you will need:- A relevant qualification in teaching and learning support, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent- Experience of working with children with SEND, such as dyslexia, autism, ADHD, physical disabilities or sensory impairments- Knowledge of the national curriculum and the different ways of supporting pupils with SEND to access it- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and other professionals- A flexible and adaptable approach and the ability to work as part of a team- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people- A willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledgeWe offer:- A competitive salary and benefits package- A supportive and inclusive working environment- A comprehensive induction and training programme- Opportunities for career progression and professional development- A chance to make a difference in the lives of children with SENDApply now!
