Job Description

Title: Support Worker, Carer and Domiciliary CarersLocation: Kent (Tunbridge Wells and surrounding area)Flexible working: Both Full-time and Part-time positions available Job Reference:RMR1036 Our client is a small business in Tunbridge Wells providing quality care to the local area. They have new opportunities for a Support Worker or Domiciliary Carers in their team. Are you looking for a job within social care This will suit someone who is caring and able to provide care to local residents, similar to care given by members of a clients own family. You must be respectful of peoples dignity, ensuring the deliveryof care to all clients is safe and maintained at a high standard (You are not expected to do tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse).Carer / Support Worker requirements:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with community care or similar skills and experience, or a willingness to learn

  • Sensitive to the needs of others
  • An active team player but also able to work on own initiative

  • Clean DBS clearance
  • Mobile phone
  • Must have Driving License and own car or use of a car
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with personal care e.g. washing, dressing, bathing
  • Assist clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities
  • Care for clients who are temporarily sick or end of life, e.g. minor dressings, help with feeding etc.
  • Promote mental and physical activity of clients through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations
  • Make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning
  • Deal with personal laundry of client
  • Prepare and serve meals; enable clients to meet their nutritional needs; wash up, tidy and clear preparation and dining areas
  • Report to the Senior Support Worker of Director of Care any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a client
  • Encourage clients to remain as independent as possible
  • Assist clients with collection of prescriptions and complying with medication instructions
  • Conform to all Policies and Procedures
  • Participate as directed by the Director of Care in induction training and regular service training programmes
  • Maintain accurate, concise and timely records of client care and diary sheets
  • Participate in staff and team meetings as directed by the Director of Care
  • Participate in reviews of client Care Plans as required
  • Undertake any other duties in line with the main responsibilities of the post at the request of the management team
  • Log in and out on the electronic monitoring system on your mobile phone
