Job Description

The Approvals Engineer will focus on support for both New and Current Product Development, and will cover approvals/regulatory requirements for water contact, thermostatic control, electrical & environmental requirements for all applicable countries.Client DetailsMy client is a market leading design and manufacturing business near Tonbridge, Kent.DescriptionThe Approvals Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • To determine mandatory & optional requirements for water contact, thermostatic control, electrical & environmental for each product, and work with internal/sub-contract design teams & suppliers to ensure the product meets these requirements.
  • To ensure products meet legislative requirements such as LVD, EMC, RED, ErP, REACH, RoHs & WEEE & obtain evidence/approvals as required.
  • To liaise with external test houses & approval bodies as required to obtain both mandatory & optional product approvals including BEAB, EMC, RED, Wras & TMV2/3.
  • To monitor & influence updates/changes to legislation & standards, and inform others as required.
  • Represent the company externally in trade bodies where required.
  • Maintain & create product technical files for CE/UKCA marking as required.

  • Proven track record in product approvals/electronic engineering within a fast paced environment.
  • Engineering qualification to degree level or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of electronic design.
  • Electrical product approvals knowledge, ideally also with water/thermostatic product approvals knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of product testing.
