Job Description

Actuarial Risk AnalystLocationAylesbury, BuckinghamshireSalary £40,000 - £50,000Fantastic opportunity for a part qualified Actuarial Risk Analystwithina growing UK Life & Pensions provider.Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and development of the Company’s risk governance framework Review and monitoring of Risk Appetite
  • Production and development of the Company’s risk reporting, including risk registers
  • Support to the production of ORSA reports and maintenance/development of ORSA processes
  • Production/review/documentation of scenarios
  • Review and challenge actuarial projections as part of ORSA process
  • Supporting the embedding and maintenance of the Company’s risk policies.
  • Review/analysis of risk-management/regulatory publications
  • Liaison and engagement with 1st and 2nd Line of Defence functions to enable development of required framework and documentation
  • Ongoing management, review and development of the RCSA process with challenge to the 1st line on their risks and controls
  • Provide challenge to 1st line, Executive and Board Committees
  • Essential criteria:
  • Understanding of risk/ Risk Management/Governance experience desirable but can be developed
  • Financial Services (Life industry preferred) experience
  • Educated to 1st Degree level or equivalent – numerate/actuarial degree preferred
  • PQ actuary by experience
  • Core Competencies:
  • Ability to develop effective solutions to issues/problems
  • Documentation skills – the ability to present potentially complex information in a clear and concise written format
  • Risk management, Business and Life insurance industry knowledge / understanding
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good risk management analysis skills/understanding of risk
  • Excellent knowledge & understanding of MS Excel, Word and MS Office
  • Pro-active, motivated, & able to assimilate new skills/information quickly
  • Well-organised, good attention to detail, able to prioritise effectively & work to deadlines
