I am currently looking for a Network and Telecoms Technical Lead for my client that is based in the Cardiff area.Network and Telecoms Technical LeadCardiff£35,845 - £41,526Role-The Network and Telecoms Technical Lead will lead the development, support and management of telecoms and network products and services deployed on behalf of the University, participate in continuous improvement analysis and design, as well as the development of telecom and network-based solutions.The Network and Telecoms Technical Lead is responsible for the day to day operation, security and delivery of our network and communications services. The role will develop and support products and services that are efficient, secure, perform optimally and are aligned to business goals and objectives. The post holder is responsible for the maintenance of configuration data, capacity planning, service availability and continuity; provide technical expertise and leadership for the network engineering function, in accordance with the overall network architecture and will participate in continuous improvement analysis and design, as well as the development of network and unified communications based solutions.Duties -1. Supervise the Network and Telecommunications team. Allocating routine tasks and/or project work. Provide direction, support and guidance as necessary, in line with individuals’ skills and abilities. Monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria facilitating effective working relationships between team members. SFIA (PEMT) Level 42. Provide advice and guidance to support adoption of network and telecommunications methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Reviewing and tailoring existing processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of proposed methods and tools. Review and improve usage and application of methods and tools. SFIA (METL) Level 43. Actively maintains recognised expert level knowledge in network and/or telecommunications specialisms. Provides detailed and expert advice regarding the application of network data and voice technologies to the organisation’s planning and operations. Oversees the provision of specialist advice by others, consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to provide coherent advice to further the university’s objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the team and wider university. Supervises specialist consultancy.
