Our Client is the UKs biggest end-to-end commercial vehicle fleet management business managing and maintaining a fleet of 80,000 vehicles across 65 garages.They are offering an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join the team based at their Trafford Park Workshop.As a Technician, you will be responsible for conducting motor vehicle repairs on a range of HGV and LGV for external customers, including inspection, maintenance, repair and service of all types of mechanical assets.This role would be ideal for someone looking to take their first steps into HGV/LCV side of the industry, or for a time served Technician looking for job stability.Role & Responsibilities* Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation* Overhaul electrical equipment and components* Welding and metal working (if authorised & qualified)* Body repair, refinishing and painting* Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment (if authorised)* Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (when suitably qualified)* Take charge for parts ordering and stores management* Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required* Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details* required to substitute Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed* Use of skills and performance of other work within normal grade/job skills as required by the Workshop Supervisor to maximise workshop efficiency* May be the Technician in Charge or cover reception if required* Ad-hoc duties as requiredSkills & Experience* Must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance Repair* Strong customer service skills* Great communication skills* Experience working as a Vehicle Technician* Ability to work quickly and effectively* Must be hardworking and self-motivated and a productive Technician* Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing* Diagnostics skills/qualifications - desirable* Fleet experience - desirable* ADR License - desirableWhat they Offer* Excellent basic* Flexible progression based on your career aspirations* Fun, friendly working environment* Frequent overtime opportunitiesAbout Our ClientOur Client, are the UKs biggest commercial fleet management business with over 65 sites and looking after over 80,000 vehicles, they look after clients such as BT, St Johns ambulance, Post Office the AA and many more!Whats nextIf youre an automotive professional looking for a role with an expanding, stable market leading company please apply online now.
