Support Workers - Part-Time Days (Learning Disabilities)Shinners Bridge, Dartington, DevonSalary scale: £9.91 - £10.59 per hour (dependant on qualifications)Working hours: 20 hours per weekOur client is looking for amazing part-time Day Support Workers to join the team within their 10 bed Residential & Short Break Home in Dartington.About the RoleChildren and young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything our client does, and they want every person they support to have a great life with excellent outcomes. Our client couldnt achieve that without all the greatSupport Workers who join their care teams. It all starts with you!There is no such thing as a typical Support Worker. Our clients staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced SupportWorkers. The one thing that links them all together is their desire to work with young learning-disabled people, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence. Our clients Support Workers certainlydont see what they do as just another job.No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.The shift pattern for this role will be 20 hours, normally over 2 days per week. This role will involve weekend working; you can either choose to do 1 weekday and 1 weekend day every week, or you can choose to work your 2 days over the whole weekend one week,then do 2 weekdays the next week. The hours during weekdays (within term times) would be 14.30-21.30, the weekend and school holiday hours would be 08.00-20.00 or similar.About our clientBased in South Devon, our client provides high-quality short breaks and residential care, community-based programmes and specialist further education to children, young people and adults with learning disabilities. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought, and successful candidateswill need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.About YouIdeally, you will have previous experience in this sector and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
