Community Programmes Support Worker - BankBased in Totnes (you may be required to work in surrounding areas)Salary scale: £9.91 per hourWorking hours: Bank work - our client is looking for people that are available to work on alternate Saturdays and/or during the Summer HolidaysAbout the RoleAs a Community Projects Support Worker, you will be part of a team working in partnership with young people and young adults to support them in their development of life and social skills in an enjoyable and safe environment. Theres never a dull moment duringholiday projects or at Saturday Groups; you could be gorge walking on Dartmoor one day, doing yoga in a dance studio the next. They are looking for people who can contribute to their delivery and support young people and young adults with learning disabilitiesto get active - get involved - get creative - get together.About Our ClientBased in Devon, our client provides high-quality short breaks and residential care, community-based programmes and specialist further education to children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.They believe in the rights of all individuals with a learning disability, however complex, to receive the services and support they need to develop the skills and confidence to reach their full potential.They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults, and they expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought, and successful candidates willneed to undertake an enhanced DBS check.About YouOur client is looking for people who are patient, enthusiastic, sensible, practical, creative and caring. If you have these traits, then this might be a great opportunity for you to join them.Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Youth Work or Play Work, experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities or working in youth organisations, or currently studying in a related field e.g. community and/or outdoorsports, the arts, medicine or psychology.
