CT1/2 equivalent posts available in General SurgeryPosts are available from 3rd February 2021Fixed Term 6 month PostsTorbay and South Devon Surgical Unit, Torbay Hospital is looking to appoint 2 candidates to Trust Doctor / Fellow posts in General Surgery and Urology for a period of 6 months.The successful candidate would be working as a CT 1/2 Trust Doctor on dedicated Surgical Wards, as well as providing an on-call service over 7 days a week (on a rotational basis). They will also support the dedicated Surgical Receiving Unit.The Post will attract £2000 sponsorship for enrolment and completion of a medical PgCert, sponsorship for an ATLS course (Value-£650) and free place on Core Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery Course (Value-£500).The post will offer regular outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and patient management. You should expect to be fully supported by the consultant body of which the Surgical Unit currently has 6 Colorectal surgeons, 6 Upper GI surgeons and 5 Urologists.Torbay Hospital is situated in a lovely part of South Devon. Known as the English Riviera, it offers plenty of beaches, beautiful countryside and temperate weather. Torbay is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and for those who like the countryside. Dartmoor is within very easy reach.The Hospital itself is situated on the outskirts of Torquay approximately 1.5 miles from the town centre, 4 miles from Newton Abbot and 2 miles from the sea.
