Job Description

Pertemps Exeter are looking for a Technician Assistant for a permanent position based in the Torquay area, working with a client who specialises in vehicle glass replacement and repairing.This is a customer facing role so excellent customer service is imperative. The role involves providing a quality automotive glass repair and replacement service first time, every time, following correct procedures, leaving customers vehicles in a clean, undamagedcondition with the customer knowing they have dealt with a professional company.The starting payrate for this position is £9.50ph.The hours for this role are currently:

  • 8.30am to 5.30pm between and inclusive of Monday to Thursday;
  • 8.30am to 5.00pm every Friday;
  • Every other Saturday 8.30am to 12.30pm;
  • The minimum weekly working hours alternate between 42 and 46 hours per week (44 hours per week on average); and
  • You will be entitled to a half hour unpaid break on each day that you work for six hours or more on a continuous basis.
Your main duties will include:
  • Making sure that company standards are always adhered to; this includes personal appearance, Branch standards and mobile standards & in company vehicles.
  • Following all safe working practices
  • Providing a high standard of workmanship.
  • Where required assist a Technician with vehicle loading & unloading, preparatory tasks, and glass removal. This will include cleaning and priming glass and apertures as well as, under the direct supervision of a Technician, helping with the removal of glassfrom an aperture including assisting with wire cutting out tools but excluding the use of a drag and/or any other kind of knife used in the removal process including pinch weld chisels.
  • Working with customer to make sure their experience is positive, and any issues resolved quickly and within company policy.
  • Support a technician with recording any damage to customers vehicles before, during and after works have been completed.
  • Support a technician with monetary transactions; cash, card and cheques.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and approach with both customers and colleagues at all times
  • To make PR calls/sales visits to gain additional business for the Company. Inform our customers of all other services and products we offer
