Job Description

Service Support AdvisorBrite Services are currently recruiting for a Service Support Advisor to work in the Planning Department for our client based in Torquay. This is a temporary role which could last up to 12 months. You will receive an hourly rate of £9.74, weekly pay, holiday pay, pension scheme, and ongoing training and development!As a Service Support Advisor, your main responsibility will be to provide administrative support to the Planning Department, therefore you be working in a team environment and as well as working alone.Your main duties will include (but will not be limited to) the following:

  • Providing outstanding customer service, which can involve dealing with complaints (via telephone, face-to-face and email)
  • Completing data entry tasks
  • Printing plans to scale, and scanning documents
  • Assisting with financial and procurement duties (e.g. invoicing, cash handling, payment transfers, preparing and monitoring budgets)
  • Arranging and attending meetings, which will involve taking minutes
  • You may be required to travel around the local area occasionally
  • Requirements:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literate (experience using spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and bespoke IT systems)
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with all stakeholders (members of the public, colleagues, councillors, managers etc)
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • You must be numerical
  • Desirable requirements:
  • Knowledge of the terminology or experience working within Spatial Planning
  • Experience with audio typing
  • Knowledge of procurement and financial regulations
  • Knowledge of related law and local government procedures
  • Experience using the Councils Financial Information Management System (FIMS)
  • Driving Licence
