Job Description

Senior Procurement and Contracts OfficerImmediately RequiredLocation: DevonSalary: £40,222 per annumLength of Contract: 12 monthsOur client, a renowned Public Sector company in Devon is looking for a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract.They are seeking a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in driving effective commercial solutions, ensuring compliance, and maximising value across the business.This would suit someone who has worked in public sector or construction procurement previously.Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Lead and manage the entire procurement process for contracts, including high-value, high-risk, and complex agreements, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practices
  • Provide expert advice on all aspects of commercial policy and practice, focusing on contract management, supplier performance, dispute resolution, and business continuity.
  • Engage with Directorates and Business Units to identify business needs, develop commercial strategies, and ensure effective implementation in line with companies priorities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices, ensuring effective communication and embedding of compliance requirements across the organisation
Required Skills and Education:
  • Degree level or equivalent, or demonstrable academic/professional experience in the relevant field
  • Construction Procurement experience
  • Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent, or senior-level procurement experience
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, make decisions aligned with the role, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Extensive operational experience in procurement and contract management, with knowledge of key commercial processes and legislation
  • Ability to work collaboratively, develop commercial strategies, and support their effective implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
