Job Description

Experienced Manufacturing Lead required to assist Engineers in a High Tech Environment. In this role, you will coordinate the manufacturing resources to safely deliver the manufacturing plan to meet or exceed budget revenue, and meet KPI measurements of delivery performance, productivity, quality, WIP level and scrap.Manufacturing Lead Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a technical production environment is preferable
  • Would also consider candidates with excellent people management skills from alternative industry sector
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and management of manufacturing teams ideally
  • Exposure to a LEAN manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Use of Syspro and legacy business systems
  • Awareness of documentation structure
  • General computer literacy
  • Understanding of KPI metrics
  • Trained in LEAN manufacturing practices would be ideal
  • Manufacturing Lead Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Production Manager
  • Coordinate the manufacturing resources to safely deliver the manufacturing plan
  • Meet or exceed budget revenue, and meet KPI measurements of delivery performance, productivity, quality, WIP level and scrap
  • To manage the line schedules and ensure correct prioritisation of schedule mix and minimum levels of WIP
  • To proactively manage any manufacturing deviations from target and to ensure where appropriate required escalation process is followed
  • To manage team manning levels and training plans, as well as ensuring effective man management, motivation and communication to the teams
  • To proactively work with engineering to address deviations from expected yield and deliver on NPI plans
  • Ensure that all team members are conforming to all health and safety procedures and promote a culture of proactive safety on the shop floor
  • Ensure that all team members are conforming to Quality procedures and promote a culture of Quality conformance on the shop floor
  • Drive product and process improvements, through continuous improvement activities
  • To maintain required standards of behaviour, following the formal disciplinary procedure where necessary up to and including final written warning
  • Carry out all return to work interviews within required time scales
  • To provide leadership, coaching and guidance to Team Leaders
  • To maintain and improve 6S disciplines in the work area
