Job Description

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER / TORQUAYLocation: Torquay, DevonJob type: PermanentReporting to: Senior Director of OperationsSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceHawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our clients team in Torquay.The successful candidate will lead the team having responsibility for meeting business performance commitments to key stakeholders.Duties & responsibilities:

      Responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering function across the site
Improving and defining new products for the release to manufacture following their design phase in site or central development engineeringManaging cost improvement objectives and technical support of the operational functionWorking positively to develop good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel to order to maintain good cultureInvolvement with projects and in some instances take the lead with customer communicationDrive implementation and maintenance of LEAN and CI practices across the organizationAchieve budget for labour and material cost reduction as determined in agreement with site objectivesResolve issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identifiedManage transfer of NPI to release to manufacture, optimizing cost through process, material and yield in collaboration with Product & Development Engineer and ManufacturingSupport with the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions when requiredSupport Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Managers ensuring all aspects of the business support customer needsAbout you:
      Engineering (Optics / Electronics / Mechanical / Software) Degree or equivalent preferred
5 + years experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing leadership roleExperience in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Principles in volume manufacturingExperience in a manufacturing environmentProven internal presentation skillsExcellent communication skillsProven leadership skillsBenefits:
