  • Due to the growing success of our MSK physiotherapy single point of access (SPoA) service we have a number of Band 6 posts within the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s MSK Service. Our innovative MSK physiotherapy service offers rapid access, self-referral and the well-established Single Point of Access (SPoA) pathways for patients with hip, knee and spinal conditions. Through SPoA patients access orthopaedic secondary care via a referral from physiotherapy, reducing GP workload. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of a variable, often complex clinical caseload, who wishes to develop their diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills further and who can integrate well into this pathway of care. The large MSK physiotherapy team delivers services from both acute and community hospitals across South Devon. Each department is headed by a highly experienced Band 7 team lead/clinical specialist, who along with managing the service, support staff with clinical skills development. Each site hosts Specialist Orthopaedic Physiotherapist (SOP) clinics for hip/knee and spinal conditions, with monthly SOP lead teaching and development sessions available to staff. CPD is very much at the forefront of our service, ensuring we offer high quality care to our patients. We host external courses and can provide funding for training where appropriate. We deliver a whole day, service wide training event, three times a year to support your CPD.Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is a newly integrated organisation which aims to provide high quality, safe health and social care at the right time, in the right place to support the people of Torbay and South Devon to live their lives to the full. The Physiotherapy Service is integral to ensuring that this statement of purpose is delivered to our communities. For staff this gives unequalled scope for joint working, skill sharing and learning in a supportive environment. These posts offer the opportunity to live and work in an attractive part of the UK, with easy access to both Dartmoor and the sea. Newton Abbot & Ashburton boast easy access to the A38 Devon Expressway and is the gateway to Dartmoor.
