Job Description

RSR - Police RSR Police is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to supporting Blue Light sector organisations with their recruitment.RSR Police are currently recruiting for a CIP Development OfficerJob Summary:To enable the development of the force Citizens in Policing (CiP) Strategy within each of the geographical command areas and to embed a positive volunteering culture within Devon and Cornwall Police.Location:TorquayContract: 1 monthWork hours: Full time/ 37 hours a weekSalary:: £11.32 per hourVacancies: 1Vetting Level:NPPV2Main duties and responsibilities

  • This role acts as a BCU based "operational arm" of the central CiP team in order to expand and develop our approaches to volunteering opportunities, Police Cadets, Special Constabulary and Community Watch Schemes.
  • This role will co-ordinate closer and more effective links with external volunteering groups, businesses and partner agencies. This will include championing Community Safety Accreditation Schemes (CSAS) as a means of complementing local policing activity.
  • Generate a progressive culture towards volunteering that encourages innovation and improvement.
  • Ensure volunteers are effectively recruited, led and supported.
  • Ensure Volunteers skills are recognised, utilised and enhanced.
  • Ensure Duty Planning, Tasking and Deployment are effective.
  • Increase and improve connections with the voluntary sector and partners in order to increase support for policing objectives and reduce demand.
Essential
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of working with Community issues/public meetings
  • Experience of Partnership working, with the ability to form and maintain working relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to participate effectively in meetings
  • Basic knowledge of national issues and the way they affect delivery of policing services
