Job Description

I am currently recruiting on behalf of an SEN School in the NW Kent area. The school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support within their PMLD (profound, multiple learning difficulties) class. This class supports pupils with complex needs across all ages (primary and secondary) and is well supported with TAs and Teaching staff. Applicants will have a passion for working with children and young people bringing creativity and positive energy to the class. Applicants need to be robust and dedicated, and whilst this can be changeling it is ultimately very rewarding.Candidates will ideally have/be:

  • Professional and caring individual
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work on own initiative
  • Able to work with all age groups
  • Must be comfortable with personal care (toileting)
  • Moving and handling (incl. hoists) - this would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working within an SEN setting is beneficial but not essential
    • The role:
  • Teaching Assistant (Profound, Multiple Learning Difficulties)
  • Full-Time - Monday to Friday 08:30am- 15:30pm
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Initially 1 term (potential to apply for a permanent position)
  • Daily Rate: from £65 - 70 (depending on experience)
    • The school is invested in supporting its staff with development and training. Whilst this is currently a temporary role, there is the opportunity to apply for a permanent position.   • Be able to commit to working the hours specified above.
  • Provide an enhanced DBS registered on the update service. If you do not hold a valid DBS be willing to apply for a new DBS. The cost of a DBS is a one-off payment of £40 with an annual subscription of £13 per year to the DBS Update Service.
  • If you have been a UK resident for less than 5 years, a right to work visa must be provided (non-EU) and a criminal background check certificate must be provided for any country resided in for 6 months or more within the past 5 years.
