Job Description

Are you highly qualified and driven NDT technician Are you looking for a position focused on growth and development whilst offering flexible hours and optional overtime Then we have a fantastic opportunity for you! We are currently recruiting for a market leader of products and services based locally to Tipton who are looking to add a lead NDT technician to their team.This position as Lead NDT Technician will be responsible for:

  • Performing NDT test welds for the welding school and 3rd party clients
  • Liaising with the local/national authorities on Radiological matters
  • Supporting the construction, repair and maintenance teams with on-site NDT during peak periods
  • Liaising with and supporting the NDT Technical Authorities to ensure that the company are compliant and enforcing NDT best practice
  • Liaising with external radiation protection advisors
  • Liaising with counter terrorism bodies
  • To be considered for this position the successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • PCN Level 2 Certification in Radiography of Welds - X and Gamma radiography of Light and Dense metal welds is essential
  • PCN level 2 MPI/DPI is desirable
  • PCN level 2 Ultrasonic Inspection is essential
  • BINDT recognised RPS certification
  • Knowledge of construction codes and weld procedure qualification codes along with knowledge of national welding acceptance procedures ASME IX, EN, BS etc.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for mentoring
  • Drive to improve performance
  • If the successful candidate is not already PCN level 3 they must be prepared to work towards this goal
  • Package On Offer:
  • 38 hour working week, Monday - Friday (These hours are flexible between 6am and 8pm but is usually 7am - 3:30pm)
  • Plenty of overtime available but this is optional
  • Offering salary from £30,000/annum up to £40,000/annum!
