Household name & successful 3PL freight forwarder in Tillbury seek to add to their ocean Import team.As an experienced ocean import operator, you will be familiar with handling groupage/ LCL consignments from landing stage to destination/ file closure with an emphasis on negotiating haulage costs with agreed suppliers. You will use your experience and skills to maximise profits for the department whilst ensuring the best level of service possible for customers. Day to day operational duties will include collecting release documentation, ensuring shipments are invoiced correctly, responding to emails in a timely manner, completing customer and supplier spreadsheets & securing payment of funds for duty/ VAT prior to release/ delivery. Your excellent customer service & people skills will be put to good use in liaisons with shipping lines and hauliers to negotiate rates and organise cargo movements, as well as resolving customer queries or complaints as they arise.
