Job Description

Import Operator - Seafreight - VR/21527The Company & Role:Our client, the UKs leading independent logistics and trade management provider, is looking for an Import Operator to join their team in Tilbury.Duties of the Import Operator:

  • Chasing of customs clearance document from customers prior to vessel arrival.
  • Email Queries to be answered in timely manner.
  • Collection of all correct documentation prior to release/delivery of cargo.
  • Arrange haulage with shipping lines/haulers.
  • Ensure shipments are rated and invoiced correctly.
  • Negotiate and agree haulage prices with suppliers.
  • Complete customer and supplier spreadsheets.
  • Secure any payment cleared funds for COD accounts prior to release/delivery of cargo.
  • Secure payment cleared funds for duty/vat invoices prior to release/delivery of cargo.
  • Processing supplier invoices.
  • Resolving any customer query or complaint.
  • File closing cost and sales to be completed in timely manner.
  • Filing and archiving of job files once complete.
    • Experience required for the Import Operator:
  • Previous experience of working within a Seafreight Import team is essential.
  • Seafreight Operations LCL/FCL - Freight forwarding experience - min 2 years.
