The Finance Manager will be responsible for the site transactions and analysis on transactions for International Freight Department, Uni Europe. Taking ownership of the local Profit and Loss accounts (P&L), monthly Management Account reporting and deliveringfinancial and statistical KPI data for the Uni Europe leadership team.Understanding the importance of balancing a fast-paced operation with accurate and reliable financial reporting and analysis will be a key aspect of this role. Sharing best practice with those around and encourage positive change to ensure stakeholders anddepartments are aligned to aid and improve on financial performance.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and management reporting and analysis for the Finance Business Partner and relevant Business Leaders
  • Produce and manage weekly P&L reports
  • Chair and manage the weekly P&L reporting meeting with the operation and business leads
  • Complete weekly tasks actioned from the P&L meeting in a timely manner
  • Responsibility for posting and reviewing monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Complete a monthly reconciliation of the P&L reports versus the general ledger accounting
  • Provide commentary and reasoning behind all variances for various business stakeholders to review
  • Build an in-depth knowledge of cost and revenue drivers and their impact on the financial results weekly, monthly, seasonally, and annually
  • Provide analysis and insight into specific business unit performance, identifying areas of improvement to drive profitability and support strategic business goals
  • Ensure site compliance, corporate standards and financial controls are adhered to
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, along with ongoing variance tracking, analysis, and casual reporting
  • Provide analysis on financial performance to key stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc basis
  • Support business projects, including implementation of any new site-specific contracts
  • Develop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the site and wider organisation
  • Manage a Finance Analyst
Skills / Experience
  • Previous relevant experience in international freight finance preferred
  • Experience in Finance Manager role previously
  • Experience managing people
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate well with people in different areas of the business
  • Excellent presentation skills to explain analysis
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Desire to continuously improve performance
  • Ideally studying towards or qualified with CIMA/ACCA
