Job Description

  • Design Engineering Manager responsible for leading a team of Design Engineers and Draughtsperson to produce detailing/design work.
  • Experience and knowledge of structural steelwork, industrial piping and civils.

We are supporting our client to hire a Design Engineering Manager as part of continued and ongoing expansion within the business. The business have led the way within their industry, as a well-recognised, reliable and major supplier to business across anumber of sectors globally.The Design Engineering Manager will play key a role in setting the direction and plans for the team around design/detailing work for structural steel, industrial piping and civils. You will be the go-to person within the business around drawing requirementswhich will support key projects the business are working on (of which there are an increasing amount of exciting and new projects coming up).We are looking for candidates the demonstrate the following background:
  • Extensive experience working in management in a Design Engineering, Drawing Office or Design Office.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steelwork, pipework, and civils work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication will be an advantage.
  • Apprentice trained or qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong approach to health and safety - additional safety certificates will be a strong bonus, as well as good understanding of CDM.
  • Have worked with 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks.
  • A pragmatic leader who is comfortable leading from the front - on occasions, you may be required to produce detailing/design work alongside the team.
