Summary The voice of our landscapes, conservation champions and lovers of all things outdoors, you’ll help to keep the British countryside and coast wonderful. Working in some of the nation’s most stunning places and spaces, come rain or shine, your love of the outdoors will inspire others as you strive to ensure that landscapes are beautifully presented and continue to take our visitors’ breath away. What its like to work here Parke is a busy countryside site adjacent to the growing town of Bovey Tracy in the South East of Dartmoor National Park, it is used and loved by hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.Parke includes woodlands, grasslands, wet meadows, Orchard and Parkland with the Wray Valley Cycle Trail running through it and the River Bovey flowing through its heart. The main house at Parke is leased to the Dartmoor National Park Authority and Parke also hosts the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust and the ever popular Home Farm Café. The role will be based primarily at Parke, Bovey Tracy, Devon TQ13 9JQ but will also be responsible for nearby Bearcleave woods and the land at Half Moon House, Manaton. The role will also be part of both the East Dartmoor and Dartmoor Ranger teams and will work across the Dartmoor portfolio as needed. What youll be doing You have the skills and experience to make Parke an even more special place, as well and as the knowledge and enthusiasm to bring the place to life for our many visitors. You will be a friendly, open individual who doesn’t mind talking to our visitors and discussing the work we are doing and you will be good at working collaboratively with others in the team or the local community as needed.You’ll also share and promote the work that we do here, ensuring special places like this are here to be both protected and enjoyed by everyone for ever. This will see you responding to queries and explaining the value of the work being undertaken. After all, your passion and dedication could fire the imagination that makes a visitor become a supporter for the rest of their life.This role will require weekend and bank holiday working. You’ll also need an full driving licence and have the experience with 4x4 and the ability to tow trailer (B+E or equivalent). Who were looking for
