Post: ICT Support EngineerSalary: SO 1 - £30,420 - £32,394Hours: 37 hours per weekContract Type: PermanentLocation: St Marks House, Thornaby, Stockton-on-TeesThe Policing Vision 2025 states that, "By 2025 digital policing will make it easier and more consistent for the public to make digital contact, improve our use of digital intelligence and evidence and ensure we can transfer all material in a digital formatto the criminal justice system."At Cleveland Police we are committed to providing the information technology needed to deliver the vision, from investigations, to supporting the public, and interacting with the Justice sector and other agency partners. A variety of digital channels willallow the public to communicate with us in new ways, to report crime and to carry out routine transactions.To support this vision we are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to work for Cleveland Police as an ICT Support Engineer. If you are committed to providing excellent service delivery, recognising the importance of best practice frameworksyou will be suited to this role. You will work primarily as second line support, responding to a wide range of issues escalated from the Service Desk for the further investigation required to understand and resolve in a timely manner.You will be educated to HNC or degree level, or possess equivalent ICT experience. An understanding of the ITIL principles and standards for Service Delivery and Support is required also. Prioritising tasks and working to competing deadlines is a key areafor this role, so you will be experienced in managing a demanding workload. Postholders will need to be methodical in their approach, analysing information and making effective decisions to resolve incidents and achieve best outcomes.Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 21st November 2022.The increasing pace of change in our increasingly digital society means that the role of ICT in the success of Cleveland Police will only increase over time. Technology plays an increasingly important role in the delivery of services and information in thisdigital age. Society today has an expectation that service providers will have digital channels available that allow them to communicate quickly and efficiently, and in the manner users are accustomed to experiencing. Police Staff, Officers, the business communityand the public increasingly have this same expectation when they engage with the Police.Cleveland Police aims to ensure that police staff and officers have the resources and technology to properly investigate crime, equipped with new tools and techniques and bring offenders to justice. Digital platforms will allow officers and staff more autonomyin the decisions they make, and drive efficiency using new technology to eliminate unnecessary paperwork, reduce bureaucracy and make it easier to interact with one another.Cleveland Police will become increasingly mobile, using technology to allow its people to access information quickly, whenever and wherever they need it.
