Job Description

As our Debt Management Services Team continues to grow, we are looking for another Back Office Finance Officer to come on board! If you have debt management/recovery experience and you are looking to work within a company that offers you growth and progression,then this could have your name all over it!Sopra Steria Debt Management Services strives to provide total care for Debtors and Clients throughout the collections lifecycle. The digital transformation solutions we are putting in place, help our clients drive real business change, resulting in achievingbetter strategic, financial, citizen and employee outcomes.Our vision is to become the market leader in End-to-End debt management services, with a clear focus on ethics and vulnerability, making sure we exceed the baseline requirements of the FCAs Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) agenda.We have developed an approach which will help government departments to reduce operational costs, improve collections rates and make sure debtors are cared for at every stage of the collections lifecycle. Weve crafted a Debt Management process which considersthe organisations need for timely collection, as well as the debtors requirements at each stage of the lifecycle.We have now been successfully appointed to the Crown Commercial Service, Debt Recovery Services Framework and under this, public sector organisations (the Buyers) are now able to utilise our debt recovery services.What youll be doing:

  • Responsibility for transactional finance activities, such as Receipting, Reconciliation of Bank Statements and Processing Journals.
  • Oversight of ad hoc and month end reporting processes and obligations.
  • Ensure admin processes within the team are completed and investigate issues that arise.
  • Investigation and resolution of queries and issues, with escalation if appropriate.
  • Ensure day to day service delivery of team by completing and monitoring workloads. Taking proactive steps to resolve potential issues and advancing those that could affect delivery targets to Team Leader
  • Understand the role of Sopra Steria Financial Services in the delivery of debt collection services to our clients and our obligations to them and the Managed Service Provider
  • Other duties as assigned
What youll bring:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities, to strict deadlines and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Experience of working towards targets and deadlines
  • Experience of working within a Finance and/or multi-client environment
It would be great if you had:
  • Order to Cash or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Experience or understanding of file integrations
  • An understanding of Direct Debit processes and guidelines
  • Experience of Sage or other Finance ERPs
  • Experience of coaching others
  • Experience of reviewing and managing workloads of others
