Job Title: Welding CoordinatorLocation: WattonSalary: Up to 35k Depending upon experienceTechnique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist engineering recruitment company based in Norfolk. We are proud to be working on behalf of a globally renowned designer and manufacturer of electric process heating and control systems.A new opportunity has arisen for a Welding Coordinator to join a successful and dynamic team and business.Duties/Responsibilities:Maintain responsibility for the identification of need for and the production and maintenance of weld procedures, including repair procedures, ensuring their compliance with relevant customer specifications and legislative bodies.Maintain the process of prolongation relating to approved welding procedures.Ensure that the welding staff are competent for the tasks allocated and advise on training and development requirements where needed.Monitor and maintain accurate records relating to welding resources including staff (quantity and their qualifications) and production related equipment.Attend discussions, as required, on contract issues relating to welding both internally and with clients.Attend meeting, as required, with the Authorised Inspector and Notified Bodies of welding related activities through contract requirements, audits and certification requirements.Ensure accuracy of all project welding documentation.Identification of qualified staff, plant, and procedure selection.Management of third-party suppliers of welding related services and their procedures, including but not limited to, all weld qualification certification and testing, non-destructive testing, heat treatment and surface treatment etc.Work with the Purchasing team to ensure strategies for stocking and ordering of consumables (welding and equipment spares) is optimised.Perform NDT in accordance with qualifications received e.g., visual inspection, penetrant testing, and PMI.Review, authorise and endorse welding related documentation including weld qualifications and non-destructive testing reports.Maintain an overview of all activities relating to welding & fabrication, inspection and testing liaising with Engineering, Production, Quality and third parties as applicable to ensure technical, commercial and contractual compliance.Liaising with client, sub-vendors, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Quality and Production as appropriate to discuss and resolve technical, production and commercial issues relating to welding activities.Liaise with the sales team to generate costings for new weld procedures as requested. Ensure the sales team have accurate and complete information regards current qualifications to enable accurate project costing.Review all welding related contract correspondence and client specifications to ensure that the Sales handover satisfies the client/ certification/ industry best practice requirements.Prepare reports and statistics for internal use.To comply with the QMS & health and safety regulations in place at the time, and to adhere to all other policies.Drive the continuous improvement of welding related activities including but not limited to processes, consumables, equipment, and fabrication practices.Required competencies / experience / qualifications:CSWIP Welding qualification or recognised equivalent.Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of ASME Section IX
