Warehouse & Logistics Manager Responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process, this is a very hands-on role to oversee the efficient receipt, control, storage and on-time distribution of goods, both internally and externally as well as the management of staff in the assembly area.Based in Barnham, you will be assertive with excellent organisation and communication skills and have the ability to lead and motivate employees. By managing people, processes and systems, you will ensure company policies and procedures are followed, productivity targets and health and safety standards are met, whilst maintaining the security of the building and stock.ResponsibilitiesManagement• Liaise with internal and external customers, suppliers and transport companies.• Manage customer service requests promptly and resolve issues quickly.• Confer with unit heads to ensure warehouse activities harmonize with that of other functions such as production and purchasing.• Have a clear understanding of the companys policies and procedures and to ensure employee compliance.• Develop and implement lean initiatives to guarantee continuous improvement in processes and to continually strive to improve and develop business performance by analysing problems to provide new solutions.• Lead, motive and manage employees and resources according to ever changing needs.• Organise the recruitment and training of employees, as well as monitoring their performance and progress.• Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.• Responsible for managing the department’s KPI’s, including visual controls and converse status to management.• Brief team leaders on a daily basis.• Implement and maintain health and safety procedures, hygiene and security.• Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.• Plan future capacity requirements.• Plan and manage projects.• Oversee the inspection and planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.• Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job.Stock control• To co-ordinate material movements across all sites in accordance with the company planning system.• Co-ordinate and use IT systems to manage all stock inventories and deliveries and to evaluate performance and quality.• To ensure stock control inventories are always accurate and up to date through cycle count process, investigation of variances, and quarterly and annual physical inventories.• Plan and allocate resources for warehouse picking and shipping processes to ensure daily shipments are picked and shipped promptly following customer requirements.Transport• Plan the transportation of finished goods and vehicle routes in accordance with the company planning system.• Communicate with drivers and customers to ensure efficient delivery of products.• To effectively liaise with account managers.
