Job Description

Job Title: Kitchen AssistantLocation: ThetfordSalary: £9.90/hJob Type: Permanent, Full Time/Part time, dependant on preference.Black Swan Care Group has been involved in the Care Sector since its founding in 1991. We now own 20 separate care homes in East Anglia with plans to open one more soon.The roleWe have opportunities for a kitchen assistant who is a hard-working, conscientious individual to join our busy kitchen team in one of our residential care facilities - The Beeches - for Elderly people and those living with Dementia.Candidates must be prepared to undertake all the relevant tasks to provide meals including Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon break and Supper, not to mention the extras and special event catering. As a result, this post offers a variety of duties with the rewardof satisfied residents and staff!Ideal Candidate

  • It would be beneficial to have previous kitchen experience but not essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
  • Using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters
  • Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
  • Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
  • Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
  • Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans
  • Observing cooking times and correct temperatures
