Reed Finance are working with a company in Thetford to recruit a Finance Controller to their team. This position will be full time and permanent.Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day financial operations within two businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, understanding, and suggestingimprovements for any variances relating to sales margin and cost. They will also develop operational strategies to drive business growth, provide business partnering to the leadership team and parent company to aid business decisions, and present financialreports that provide insightful information to the CFO, Directors, and other senior Management.Key Responsibilities:• Provide detailed analysis and commentary on the different business segments.• Compile annual budgets and forecasts monitored by variance analysis.• Prepare cash flow and investment projects.• Evaluate investment project appraisals to determine financial viability.• Prepare monthly management accounts for the parent company review and consolidation.• Ensure balance sheet integrity including monthly reconciliations.• Ensure accurate financial statements are produced.• Successfully manage a direct team of three employees with dotted line responsibilities for other office staff.• Establish and maintain robust credit control process to ensure bad debit KPIs are achieved.• Ensure HMRC deadlines are adhered to for corporate tax, VAT, Financial statements Intrastat, etc.• Liaise and work with key stakeholders within the larger corporate business.• Develop relationships with external advisors.• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation along with industry updates.Key Attributes:• Excellent financial control and analysis skills.• Excellent knowledge of MS excel.• Formidable business partnering skills and experience.• Highly technically competent with broad experience of software systems and databases.• Analytical thinker and innovative problem solver.• Extensive experience delivering to deadlines in pressurised, time-constrained environments.• Compassionate and empathic leader.• The ability to prioritise and manage own workload to meet important deadlines.• Independent thinker and a keen problem solver with a “can do” attitude.• Excellent presentation skills.• Confident communicator with ability to articulate financial information and analysis to stakeholders, both written and verbally.• Strong reconciliation skills.• Ability to challenge current ways of working.• Be comfortable working as part of a team and autonomously.Qualifications / Experience• Experience in a similar role.• Qualified Chartered Accountant.• Excellent excel skills including the use of formulas and pivot tables.• Good attention to detail.• Experience with Microsoft D365 and PowerBI is desirable.The role has a highly competitive salary and benefits package which can be elaborated on at point of application.
