Job Description

A thriving engineering & manufacturing business based in Thetford are looking to hire an experienced Engineering Manager with proven experience in both Engineering & Maintenance Management from within a Factory Production environment, to join the business and drive forward several major plans for future growth & development.Reporting into the Operations Director, this all-encompassing role will see you lead, develop and improve the maintenance, production, engineering and project engineering activities across the business. This includes responsibility for a range of engineering projects, maintenance of the businesses assets and leadership & development of the Engineering and Maintenance team.The aim is to deliver demonstrable and measurable business benefits from improvements in the equipment and maintenance systems, develop working practices to improve productivity, reliability and 5S standards as well as furthering a culture of continuous improvement in all these areas.Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of the factory maintenance and engineering functions.
  • Ensure the infrastructure, technical and machinery aspects of the factory meet current and future production needs on time.
  • Develop and execute a maintenance management system and develop a plan to improve OEE
  • Ensure maintenance activities, equipment and infrastructure compliance against all relevant regulations, approved codes of practice, British Standards, and local procedures.
  • Be responsible for the formulation and delivery of factory and facility capital investment programme.
  • Training, development and succession planning of the maintenance and engineering teams
    • In order for your application to be successful, you will need the following skills and experience:
  • Proven experience within an Engineering and/or Production Manager position
  • Experience working in and managing both Production and Maintenance teams from within an Engineering background with plenty of factory experience.
  • Understand and have experience of compliance to relevant Health and Safety legislation pertinent to running a factory maintenance organisation, including LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, DSEAR, Legionella, Electricity at Work, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Working at Height, COSHHH
  • Hands on Factory Management skills
  • LEAN Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement background
