Job Description

A leading manufacturing business in Thetford are looking to hire an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer, to supporting with a wide range of Control & Electrical Engineering & Design work.This role will see you predominantly based in the production facility, but also involved in carrying out Control and Electrical design work, as part of the design team. Youll provide additional production support as and when volume increases, offer Electrical Design support and be able to provide some training to less experienced members of the Production team.There will also be a requirement to carry out some electrical safety auditing and offer control and electrical support for other areas of the business, including the Engineering and Service team.Responsibilities will include:

  • Work as part of the operating team, providing holiday and absence cover.
  • Design Controls for Fan Coil Units and Variable Air Volume systems.
  • Prepare electrical specifications, parts lists, layouts, enclosures and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain BOMs relating to controls on electrically related items.
  • Raise purchase requests for specialist electrical components and help the purchasing team with sourcing of these items.
  • Train operators in wiring, PAT testing and calibration.
  • Electrical safety auditing in the factory.
  • Factory electrical installation design for new machines, work areas and test areas.
  • Factory problem solving.
  • Training and support for service team.
    • In order for your application to be considered, youll need the following skills and experience:
  • Working knowledge of Control Systems.
  • Proficient with design software (AutoCAD Electrical or similar).
  • Ideally have 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, but 17th Edition will also be sufficient.
  • Be familiar with LV & EMC regulations.
  • Experience in designing control systems.
    • Hours of Work:
  • 07:30am to 16:30 (Monday to Thursday) and 06:00am to 12:00 noon (Friday).
