Job Description

We live by a simple set of values: to delight our customers, maximise our efficiency, be socially responsible and to promote being an employer of choice.Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annumJob DescriptionAs a Transport Compliance Supervisor, you will deliver an efficient and cost effective transport solution. You will accommodate the requirements of the Kent Operation and Fleet Management to achieve the necessary service levels whilst operating within the legal limits of the industry through close interaction with the Kent Management Team and will also lead and manage your team to ensure that all department procedures are maintained and hands on support is given where necessary.Reporting to the Transport Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the control and performance of the Operation and staff to ensure continuity and efficiency in line with all legal requirements and in line with the weekly P&L
  • Ensure the transport fleet and all assets are operated in a commercially viable way at all times and in line with DVSA regulations e.g. fleet inspection cycles and fleet record management
  • Review daily VOR and service KPIs along with forward planning and analysis to ensure the lowest cost and maintain the required service levels at all times.
  • Ensure transport operations, practices and procedures are managed in line with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and other statutory compliance, including legal compliance
  • Control of driver’s hours, ensuring optimum utilisation within the restrictions of tachograph law/drivers hour’s restrictions and monitoring all FW compliance management systems.
  • Oversee and participate in all internal audits for Fleet / Compliance and Driver Development to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure schedules are maintained and that the service provided meets/exceeds FW standards.
  • Control of team-members rotas to ensure optimum efficiency
  • Organisation of required driver CPC training through driver trainer reports
  • Monitor and improve vehicle and driver MPG performance through Telematics and Driver Trainers.
  • Delivering effective training, coaching and development of the drivers through the driver trainers and in conjunction with the DDM team
  • Manage the recruitment, induction and training of newly employed and agency drivers
    • Qualifications
  • Hold a full valid Driving Licence
  • Hold a CPC qualification
  • Effective people management and coaching skills
  • Experience of compliance requirements and challenges within Transport
  • Sound knowledge of transport compliance requirements - including DVSA compliance regulations and driver’s hours regulations
  • Knowledge of Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Regulations
  • Ability to analyse information and make sound judgements
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
