Job Description

Lead Python Developer / Tech Lead / Lead Software EngineerIf you are an experienced Technical Lead or aspiring Senior Python Developer who has ambitions of becoming a CTO and playing a vital technical leadership role with a growing and innovative health tech provider that directly impacts peoples care and helps improves peoples lives, wed love to talk to you.The role will suit an experienced Developer who wants to be challenged and help lead and shape a team to develop a platform and solutions that are robust and are part of making sure people get the care they need and help co-ordinate care delivery.Who would this role suitA mature developer who has had wide experience of building web applications and has an excellent understand of application design concepts and data who is happy to work on a mixture of Django, web services Flask / Web Services and API work with health and NHS services.Ideally you will offer a strong Python background but are able to lead and manage Javascript / REACT based projects. You will enjoy taking on the challenge of designing new functionality as well working in an existing code base that is supporting live customers.Working in Health and Social Care you must have a passion and personal pride in the software you create knowing that peoples lives and wellbeing rely on what your team delivers.You will be expected to take an active role in understanding business need and researching new technologies / approaches to meet customer needs. For example, exploring and integrating: WebRTC/OpenVu, ElasticSearch and VOIP with Asterisk and developing AI capabilities.You will be working on a young platform and will be developing new functionality to meet customer needs at the same time as supporting operational services with the NHS and social care within the UK. You will need to have the ability to manage multiple concepts / projects and enjoy the mental challenge of thinking across technologies to ensure the right solution is delivered.Skills & Experience Required:Ideally, you will have a good experience of building and managing APIs with third party systems and has a good understanding of XML / JSON. You will offer experience or a strong interest in many of the following technologies:

  • MySQL (good knowledge and able to design tables and indexing)

  • NoSQL / MongoDB

  • React and modern javascript frameworks

  • CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Data Exchange Standards (e.g HL7 / FHIR)
  • A very flexible working environment with flex hours and home working is on offer with onboarding and interviews taking place remotely. Longer term there will be a requirement to work 1-2 days per week in the office which is a short walk from the train station. Required skills
